Flashcards on this page

This page includes a 16-card interactive flashcard deck. Here’s a taste:

  • clear-air turbulence (CAT) — Sudden, sometimes severe turbulence in cloudless air near the jet stream. Radar cannot detect it and it strikes without warning.
  • severe turbulence — Violent turbulence that throws unsecured people and objects around the cabin and can cause serious injuries.
  • fasten seat belt sign — The cockpit-controlled cabin sign ordering passengers to sit down and belt up — switched on before expected turbulence.

Members study all 16 cards — flip, shuffle and star them, and review each one with spaced repetition on the Study dashboard, timed for just before it fades.

You’ve reached the Members’ part of this briefing. The first part is free — Members read everything: every article, grammar activity, narration and dictation, plus the complete archive and the full Study zone — vocabulary decks, the Grammar Check and writing tasks.
