Membership Required

Flashcards on this page

This page includes a 17-card interactive flashcard deck. Here’s a taste:

  • engine failure — An engine stops producing thrust. Just after takeoff it is a Mayday: the aircraft is low, slow, and has lost a large part of its performance.
  • engine fire — A fire warning on an engine. The crew shut the engine down, discharge the fire bottle, and land as soon as possible.
  • fire bottle — A built-in fire extinguisher that the crew discharge remotely into an engine to put out a fire.

Members study all 17 cards — flip, shuffle and star them, and review each one with spaced repetition on the Study dashboard, timed for just before it fades.

You’ve reached the Members’ part of this briefing. The first part is free — Members read everything: every article, grammar activity, narration and dictation, plus the complete archive and the full Study zone — vocabulary decks, the Grammar Check and writing tasks.
