Drone search text

Here’s the text to the listening from yesterday.

Enjoy!!

A plane was on short final to the runway when the crew reported that they could see a drone to the right of their position. They continued for a safe landing moments later. Subsequent arrivals were switched to a parallel runway and a police helicopter was sent to search for the drone close to the runway. The helicopter was unable to locate the drone or anything suspicious. A subsequent arrival to the same runway reported seeing an object but they couldn’t confirm that it was a drone. None of the planes had to perform a missed approach and the object disappeared not long after.

Flying taxi text

Here’s the text to the listening from yesterday.

Enjoy!!

A 737 was cleared for takeoff and was increasing the thrust on the engines when a taxi passed through a red light securing the road just behind the runway threshold. As a result, the taxi was blown into the air by the engines’ jet blast and after landing, the taxi rolled over a couple of times. The aircraft continued its takeoff and journey to its destination without incident. The taxi driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was uninjured, the taxi however, received substantial damage.

Private escort

Here’s the text to the listening from yesterday.

Enjoy!!

An A330 was en route to its destination when, about 90 minutes before its estimated arrival time, two fighter aircraft were sent to escort it to the airport. Somebody had made a phone call to police saying that there was a chemical weapon on board the plane. The aircraft continued for a safe landing at its destination and taxied to a remote apron, where the aircraft and everybody on board was searched. Nothing unusual was found and the plane and its passengers were cleared to continue their journeys.

Runway leak

Here’s the text to the listening from yesterday.

Enjoy!!

A flight with 213 people on board was descending into its destination when the crew began to suspect that they had a fuel leak. They reported it to ATC but continued their approach as normal. After landing ATC confirmed a liquid, most likely fuel, was leaking from engine no.1. The pilots shut down the engine and continued to taxi to the apron. The passengers disembarked and mechanics investigated the problem. The runway had to be cleaned before other flights could land.

Take care of my explosives

Here’s the text to the listening from yesterday.

Enjoy!!

A flight landed at its destination as expected without any unusual occurrences. When the baggage handlers were unloading the baggage they found a suitcase with a note on the outside. It said, ‘take care of my explosives’. Security was alerted and the plane was moved to a remote area. The bomb disposal experts were called in to examine the suitcase. After 30 minutes examining the suitcase they discovered it had no explosives inside and it was safe. The plane was released and was able to perform the return flight, a little later than scheduled. Police are now investigating who put the note on the luggage.

Where are the dogs?

Here’s the text to the listening from yesterday.

Enjoy!!

An Airbus A321 was climbing out of its airport of origin when the crew heard an unusual noise. They weren’t sure where the noise was coming from but it sounded like barking dogs. They though it was a problem with a hydraulic system because this sometimes makes a similar sound to barking dogs when there is a problem, but there was no indication of a hydraulic problem this time. As a result, they decided to return to their airport of origin to allow ground personnel to investigate the problem. After they landed, they discovered that the noise was actually from two dogs in the cargo hold, whose containers hadn’t been properly secured. The containers were secured and the plane took off again.
