What is a relative clause?

A relative clause adds information about a noun by joining it to a second idea, so you avoid writing two short, choppy sentences. It usually begins with a relative pronoun — who, which, that, whose — or a relative adverb such as where or when. When the regulator confirmed that it had cleared electric air taxis to fly, almost every sentence in the coverage leaned on them.

FAA Greenlights Electric Air Taxi Flights in 26 States

The FAA has approved eight pilot projects across 26 states to begin integrating electric air taxis into US commercial aviation from as early as summer 2026.

The Federal Aviation Administration has announced eight projects that will be permitted to conduct electric air taxi operations — some as early as summer 2026 — as part of a newly created Integration Pilot Programme spanning 26 US states. The initiative marks the most significant regulatory step yet towards embedding eVTOL aircraft into mainstream commercial aviation.

China Certifies the World’s First Electric Air Taxi for Passenger Flights

China has made aviation history. On 13 October 2023, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) gave its official stamp of approval to the EHang EH216-S — making it the world’s first electric air taxi to receive a type certificate from a national aviation authority.

  1. It’s planning an elevate network that will use electrically powered aircraft to transport people.
  2. This type of aircraft is being called eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing).
  3. Big players such as Aurora Flight Sciences, Bell Helicopters, Airbus Helicopters and Embraer are working on VTOL (or eVTOL) designs.
  4. Plans are also being made to adapt air traffic control systems to accommodate unmanned aircraft flying in dense built-up areas.
  5. The focus point for this development has been Dallas, Texas so far.

Uber Invests in Plans for Electric VTOL Air Taxi Network – AINtv

U.S.-based ride-share group Uber has announced that it is collaborating with multiple manufacturers and technology companies to develop an array of innovative aircraft that it hopes will expand the horizons of air transport and package delivery through its so-called Uber Elevate Network.
