Video answers: ‘Airplane recycling’

Here are the answers to last Friday’s video, enjoy!

Suggested ICAO level for video: 5+

  1. Circuit boards for use in phones, computers and TVs.
  2. Metal sheets, wires and electrical components.
  3. It’s doesn’t go directly to the scrap yard because it’s too big in one piece, it has to be broken into smaller pieces.
  4. After the plane has been broken down into manageable pieces they’re taken to the recycling centre where they’re broken down into much smaller pieces which are then separated by a powerful magnet. The pieces of valuable metal are then taken away to be used in phones, computers, TVs and many other products.
